Qiulae and Sophie stepping down to take up political roles

Announcement time!

It’s a bittersweet moment for us as we share that Qiulae Wong and Sophie Handford have stepped down from their WEAll Aotearoa roles to take up new political appointments. Qiulae, formerly a member of our Board, has become the new Leader of The Opportunity Party, and Sophie, formerly our Future Generations Lead, is now standing as the Kāpiti candidate for the Labour Party.

As a proudly non-partisan organisation, we are not aligned with any political parties. WEAll's goal is to advocate for a wellbeing economy, focused on providing the conditions for healthy people on a healthy planet. It is our experience that Kiwis from all across the political spectrum support this, and we will continue to encourage all political parties to champion policies that advance a wellbeing economy.

We are deeply grateful for everything Sophie and Qiulae brought to WEAll Aotearoa and wish them both all the best as they take these next steps.
