We’re excited to announce two new part-time positions at WEAll Aotearoa.

Note: there is the opportunity to combine the two positions for a full-time position.

The first is an Event & Administration Lead. We are looking for a smart, organised and dynamic team player who is passionate about economic systems change, intergenerational fairness and prepared to get stuck-in organising events and supporting the wider WEAll Aotearoa team with administrative tasks. $67,000 pro rated to 2 days a week (16 hours).

The second is a Communications Specialist. We are looking for a smart and dynamic team player who is passionate about using social media, design and narratives to help build a broad-based movement. $67,000 pro rated to 3 days a week (24 hours).

Event & Administration Lead

We are looking for a smart, organised and dynamic team player who is passionate about economic systems change, intergenerational fairness and prepared to get stuck-in organising events and supporting the wider WEAll Aotearoa team with administrative tasks. You will be committed to the aims and objectives of WEAll and to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi. 

The primary purpose would be supporting the WEAll team to deliver high-quality events and undertake general administrative tasks. WEAll Aotearoa organises regular in-person and online events, community of practises for elected and staff members working in local government, webinars, workshops, a popular book club and conferences. You will assist the organisation of these events and use our CRM and calendar platform to update attendees. You would assist WEAll’s Aotearoa mahi by processing membership, donations, volunteers; keeping track of our outreach activities; organising flights and travel; and undertaking general administrative tasks.

The other part of the role is supporting our rangatahi-led Tomorrow Together campaign. This is a movement for intergenerational fairness, grounded in the belief that the choices we make today should ensure a thriving future for generations to come. At the centre of the campaign is our Tomorrow Together Charter and a discussion document looking at a possible Future Generations Act for Aotearoa.

This position is 2 days a week and there is the opportunity to combine with the Communications Specialist role also advertised for a full-time position.

Working arrangements:

  • The contractor will work remotely at their own location. If based in Wellington, the team co-works two days a week in the CBD and in Auckland there exists the opportunity to co-work alongside the Communications Lead.

  • The contractor will provide their own laptop/computer and phone, for the purposes of WEAll work.

  • Employment type: Self Employed Contact

  • Remuneration & hours: $67,000 pro rated to 2 days a week (16 hours) 

  • Contract length: Fixed term contract for twelve months with extension subject to review

  • Reporting to: Director (with some direction provided by Knowledge and Engagement Lead)

Key Responsibilities

  • Working alongside the WEAll Aotearoa team to deliver our strategy for the next 12 months.

  • Support our rangatahi-led Tomorrow Together campaign by facilitating meetings, conducting outreach and organising events.

  • Help organise WEAll Aotearoa’s events including booking speakers and facilities, sending updates and post-event follow-up.

  • Manage WEAll Aotearoa’s event calendar and proactively plan a work plan to deliver our schedule of high-quality events.

  • Undertake general administrative tasks such as processing membership, donations, volunteers; keeping track of our outreach activities; organisation flights and travel and undertake general administrative tasks.

  • Work with the team to drive campaigns and events.

  • Support evaluation and monitoring across our projects.

  • Contribute to strategic planning and setting goals for WEAll Aotearoa’s work.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of wellbeing economy ideas and concepts, and a willingness to learn more in this space.

  • Excellent event organising and communications skills, ideally with a background in youth-led campaigning.

  • Experience undertaking administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Excellent self-organisation, time and project management skills.

  • An understanding of diversity and inclusion work, and a commitment to tackling all institutional forms of oppression and exclusion.

  • An understanding of the relationship between the economy and planetary boundaries.

Communications Specialist

Interested in shifting the narrative to transform the economic system to one designed around the wellbeing of people and the taiao? The Wellbeing Economy Alliance (WEAll) Aotearoa is looking for a Communications Specialist to join our small team to deliver an exciting and transformative programme of work. 

We are looking for a smart and dynamic team player who is passionate about using social media, design and narratives to help build a broad-based movement. You will be committed to the aims and objectives of WEAll and to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi. 

You have a background in communications, digital design or movement building and will lead the creation of content for social media, our website, reports, and external events such as webinars, seminars and conferences. 

You will support our Communications Lead in the development of narratives and key messages, video production, and media as appropriate.

This position is 3 days a week and there is the opportunity to combine with the Events and Administration role also advertised for a full-time position.

  • Lead our media monitoring.

  • Manage communications with our with our growing membership.

  • Support development of narratives and key messages and video production.

  • Work with the team to drive campaigns and events.

  • Support evaluation and monitoring across our projects.

  • Contribute to strategic planning and setting goals for WEAll Aotearoa’s work.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of wellbeing economy ideas and concepts, and a willingness to learn more in this space.

  • Excellent communications skills, including the ability to translate complex messages into those which are easy to understand, and which are applicable to a range of individuals and organisations.

  • Experience managing social media platforms and growing engagement.

  • Experience in updating websites and sending out newsletters.

  • Experience using Canva, InDesign and other digital design tools.

  • Excellent self-organisation, time and project management skills.

  • An understanding of diversity and inclusion work, and a commitment to tackling all institutional forms of oppression and exclusion.

  • An understanding of the relationship between the economy and planetary boundaries.
